Hagstrom, R.G.,1999. The Warren Buffett Portfolio: Mastering the Power of the Focus Investing Strategy, John Wiley & Sons, Inc.,  New York, NY.

Robert Hagstrom presents the results obtained by Warren Buffett, along with the investing results obtained by the "Superinvestors of Buffettville" and which are summarized on the webpage Home / Discover Focus Investing.

In Appendix A of the book, Hagstrom lists of the companies held in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio, managed by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, from 1988 to 1997. During this 10 year period, the market value of the portfolio grew from $3.1 billion at the end of 1988 to $31.8 billion by the end of 1997, compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of almost 30% per year. The growth of the portfolio was the due to a combination of capital gains, dividends received from the companies and additional funds provided by investors.

During this same period, Berkshire Hathaway, held just 5 and 10 companies, of which between 35 to 43% of the funds were concentrated in 1 company; the Coca Cola Company. That is the core principle of the focus investing strategy; concentrating your investments in companies that have the highest probability of outstanding performance.
